Dear customers and friends of cleverplugins.com
It is my sad duty to inform you that my friend and business-partner Tony Lindskog passed away shortly before New Years Eve 2010.
Tony was a dear friend and I am still expecting him to pop back on Skype at any moment. I cannot believe he is gone.
Tony was one of my first customers, and our first couple of e-mails turned into a friendship and from friends into business-partners.
Tony was much more than that and he is very missed by his friends and family.

What does this mean for you? I am as of yet uncertain of that. Tony’s death has affected me a lot, and what the future for CleverPlugins.com is right now, I am not sure.
The data has gone as well
The old CleverPlugins.com was also affected. Apart from doing customer support and marketing, Tony was the person handling hosting and backing up CleverPlugins.com
The server was shut down a few days ago by the people hosting his server, a few days after the 1st of January 2010. I suspect since their latest bill has not been paid.
All data, customers, affiliates, sales, database, all files… Everything is gone.
I am in the process of tracking down the hosting company to see if I can get a copy of the databases, but I have yet to locate the proper company.
Until I have tracked down the databases, I have no chance of contacting our customers nor inform affiliates of the situation, and I have redirected all traffic to the main page temporarily.

My deepest condolences.
I’m sure he will be missed. But true friends, like Tony are never gone, they constantly manifest themselves in our memories; something we do that reminds us of them and brings a smile. Or we find ourselves doing something our departed friend would do, and toughed at that nerve that only he knew how to trigger just right. Yes, they will forever live in our memories.

I am sorry to hear that. I do not think it will be that hard for you to track the hosting company. Please do not drop this there are many of us who would seriously like the plugins to be furthur developed. Take care
I’m assuming you mean 2011, not 2010? Either way, I’m sorry to hear about your loss. Your company has provided some excellent plugins, and I do hope there is a way that you can make it through. Understandably, you need time to grieve and figure out what’s what, just keep in mind that there’s those out there that most definitely understand what you’re going through.
I’m sorry 2011 had such a horrible start for you, and can only hope that it gets better!

This is really bad news – for the family and for you as a close friend, of couse, but also for the community.
Being an entrepreneur myself I would love to see my works continue in case I pass away, so I really hope that the great work of the two of you will be continued.
I really love all clever plugins. I hope new admin can make sure all cleverplugins still exist.

I am not planning on dropping cleverplugins.com, but a lot of data needs to be gathered and a new system built up. I will continue developing WordPress plugins, but I have no idea about when at them moment.

It was the previous hosting company I am looking for, and I think I have found them. I have sent an e-mail to their support, and I am now crossing my fingers.
You are quite right. Tony would not want me to stop, and I intend to start up again, and I will.

I had actually talked to Tony a couple times as a customer here. I have to say he was always a nice guy. I can only imagine that he was a great friend.

I’m really sorry to hear that. It’s always a hard thing when someone is taken from us … especially when they are in their prime. Being in the military myself I have also had to learn the harsh reality of loss. While I was anxious and eager to see what I could get involved with here at cleverplugins.com, I have been sadly humbled and driven to take a look at my own life (offline) and appreciate what and who I have as family and friends. Take the time you need to grieve and know there are many out there who wish you, your family and his the best at this time.
I’m not a programmer or anything even remotely close to being an expert online but if there is anything I can do to help you get things rolling again, please don’t hesitate to ask. Even if you just need a guinea pig to test out a link.
