PPinger

It is an updated version of our popular my Users Ping for Me; if you are running MYPFM then we recommend that you replace it by installing PPinger instead (and disabling/deleting MYPFM).

This WordPress Plugin automatically lets your users ping for you. This plugin runs fully automatically, and is set to be as non intrusive as possible for your normal users.

By pinging RSS aggregators often, you increase the probability of getting all your pages well indexed, and by using your visitors to ping for you, you do not use your own IP constantly and look like you are spamming.

Features

  • Limits the frequency of pinging to reduce risk of “spamming” (maximum every 2 hours)
  • It is set to not trigger for administrators or logged in registered users browsing your blog.
  • Pings random rss aggregators for randomization

Anonymity

Although the blog itself is easily trackable (its the blog you install the plugin on) the IP’s that sends the pings are mixed, since the plugin uses your visitors ip’s to send the ping. This will make the process seem much more random.

List of RSS aggregators

The plugin uses pingomatic.com as the core pinging service, but randomizes the rss aggregators that it pings.

It randomizes between pinging a randomly selected amount of these RSS aggregators:

  • Weblogs.com
  • Blo.gs
  • Technorati
  • FeedBurner
  • Syndic8
  • NewsGator
  • MyYahoo!
  • PubSub.com
  • Blogdigger
  • BlogStreet
  • Moreover
  • Weblogalot
  • Icerocket
  • NewsIsFree
  • TopicExchange
  • GoogleBlogSearch
  • Spinn3r
  • Bloglines
  • PostRank
  • SkyGrid
  • Collecta
  • Superfeedr

Why!?

It is a good help for getting new blogs indexed. However, it's SEO value is quite limited.
