WordPress usually checks for updates twice a day. 

This is good so your website does not use a lot of resources constantly checking for updates, but it can also be a problem if you want a particular update to be available that you know is released.

You can force WordPress by going to your admin Dashboard -> Updates and clicking the “Check Again” button to force a check straight away.
